Hey angel! ;)

You still need a Windows XP to re-install it but the good news is that you can order a system recovery disc that will repair Windows XP system files.

It doesn't cost very much like that awful price of Windows XP.

For example, if you purchase a computer and it a Dell brand. You simply go to http://www.dell.com and go to Support %26amp; Drivers. They have Tag Express or certain model for you to look it up.

If your computer is a Gateway, you can do the same by looking in the Gateway website. Same area as Support %26amp; Drivers.

Will that help? :)
Reply:looks like u have corrupted system files, only way to fix the problem would be to wipe out your hard drive and re-install windows xp, or use system recovery discs, then u can update. just ask around, someone might be able to borrow u a cd of windows xp, or u could buy one at the store.
Reply:Try this... it worked for me! You need to re-register the Wups2.dll file...

To register the Wups2.dll file in Windows, follow these steps:1. Stop the Automatic Updates service. To do this, follow these steps:a. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.

b. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

net stop wuauserv

2. Register the Wups2.dll file. To do this, follow these steps:a. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\wups2.dll

Note For a computer that is running Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

regsvr32 %windir%\syswow64\wups2.dll

b. Click OK on each verification message that you receive.

3. Start the Automatic Updates service. To do this, type the following command at the command prompt, and then press ENTER:

net start wuauserv

4. Exit the command prompt. To do this type exit, and then press ENTER.
