Net Send on Windows XP?

It just doesn't seem to work...


Command Prompt:





C:\Documents and Settings\Owner%26gt;net send /DOMAIN test


The message was successfully sent to domain MSHOME.





Although I recieve no Message





C:\Documents and Settings\Owner%26gt;net send /USERS test


No users have sessions with this server.





C:\Documents and Settings\Owner%26gt;net sessions


There are no entries in the list.





C:\Documents and Settings\Owner%26gt;net view

The command completed successfully.





C:\Documents and Settings\Owner%26gt;net send \\PORTABLE test


The syntax of this command is:








NET SEND


{name | * | /DOMAIN[:name] | /USERS} message





C:\Documents and Settings\Owner%26gt;net send PORTABLE test


An error occurred while sending a message to PORTABLE.





The message alias could not be found on the network.

Did ur message service on ur Services %26amp; Applications disable or not:p





My Computer%26gt;right click and choose "Manage"%26gt;Services %26amp; Applications%26gt;Services%26gt;Messenger(right click n choose "Properties"%26gt;%26gt;And check out at "Startup Type" either disable or not.

  1. It's not secure using NET SEND. Read http://www.hackishcode.com/showstory.php?id=38. Turn it off and do not use any more.
